MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

I can't believe it but testing week is here. Our staff and students have worked very hard for the last 29 weeks to prepare for these assessments. I know that our students are ready to show what they know! Parents often ask how they can help their children during the OAAs. Here is a list of testing tips that you can share with your child as they prepare for their assessments.

Top 10 Tips for Testing

  1. Stay positive.  Have a positive attitude.
  2. Get a good night’s sleep the night before the test.
  3. Eat a healthy breakfast.
  4. Stay calm.  Try to relax during the test.
  5. Read and follow all directions.
  6. Take your time.  Do not rush through the test.
  7. Read all the multiple choice options and choose the best one.
  8. Don’t spend too much time on one question.  Go on and come back to the questions you skipped.
  9. Check your answers when finished.
  10. Watch the time.  Pace yourself.

Remember that we have an adjusted schedule during testing:

Grade 5 students are to report at the regular time of 8:00 on April 22, 23, and 24. Students in grades 3 and 4 will report on a delayed schedule of 11:00 AM on April 22, 23, and 24.

Grade 4 Students are to report at the regular time of 8:00 on April 25 and 26. Students in grades 3 and 5 will report on a delayed schedule of 11:00 AM on April 25 and 26.

Grade 3 Students are to report at the regular time of 8:00 on April 29 and 30. Students in grades 4 and 5 will report on a delayed schedule of 11:00 AM on April 29 and 30.

Who will do their BEST on the OAA test? WE WILL!
