MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome to the 2013-14 school year at Conneaut Middle School.  A student's middle school years can be a rewarding and wondrous time.  At the same time, students are presented with the special challenges of transition.  This is a special period of change marked by a gradual departure from the ways of elementary school and into the realm of young adulthood.  As students enter the school as 6th graders and journey on through 7th and 8th grade, they will have many opportunities to grow at Conneaut Middle School.  We will operate under the premise that all students can learn.  We want every student to feel safe and secure in their surroundings.  We want to establish a welcoming environment of nurturing support to enable our students to achieve.  It is our hope that our students will be active learners in their subject areas.  Because education is more than just subject content, we will work with our students to practice self-discipline and to work cooperatively while having tolerance for others.  These are the things that we as a school community can accomplish.  These goals will be difficult to attain without your support as a parent.  We want all parents to take an active role in their child's education.  In order for this to occur, our lines of communication must be open.  Together, we can make your child's Conneaut Middle School experience meaningful with many happy memories that will last a lifetime.  We look forward to working with our students and families throughout this term.  Have a great 2013-2014 school year!

Sincerely,

Joel Taylor
