Welcome back to school!
WELCOME TO OUR NEW COLLEAGUES! Some new faces have joined our staff: Mrs. Michelle Furmage (Gr. 3), Mrs. Michelle Markowitz (Gr. 5), Mrs. Amanda VanSlyke (Gr. 5), Mr. Sean Smith (Gr. 5 Instrumentals), Ms. Victoria Smith (Literacy Tutor) and Ms. Liesl Blackwell (Assistant Principal). We are thrilled to have these folks with us.

PARENTS AND STUDENTS WHO WILL PARTICIPATE IN INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC LESSONS (Gr. 5 ONLY) will have an opportunity to audition an instrument, meet local music store representatives, learn about instrument rental and purchase options, and buy lesson books. This will be held in the gym on Monday, Sept. 8 beginning at 5:00 for students whose last names begin with A-M and beginning at 6:30 for students whose last names begin with N-Z.
STUDENTS WHO COMPLETED THE SUMMER D.R.A.W. PROGRAM must return their forms to the school office before September 11.
EARLY DISMISSAL on Friday, Sept. 19:
12:45 – Non-bus students dismissed from west parking lot
12:50 – Bus students dismissed as buses arrive
(Students will have lunch at school before dismissal.)
ALL PARENTS AND TEACHERS ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE in the first meeting of the Gateway PTC (Parent – Teacher Committee) at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 11 in the Gateway Cafeteria. Come to learn what’s planned for this year and explore ways that you can be involved in the school community.
PLEASE PROMPTLY RETURN ALL COMPLETED REGISTRATION, EMERGENCY MEDICAL, AND FREE LUNCH APPLICATION FORMS that were sent home on the first day of school. Also, please remember to pay you school fees promptly. (Fee for elementary students is $20.00. Checks should be made payable to Conneaut Area City Schools.)
PLEASE NOTE: DISTRICT POLICY REGARDING CHARGING OF SCHOOL LUNCHES: Students should prepay or pay daily for lunches. Lunch charges are discouraged. An elementary school student will be permitted to charge lunch when he/she forgets to bring lunch money. These charges should be paid the following day. After five unpaid charges, the student will only be provided a peanut butter or cheese sandwich and milk for lunch. We will continue to notify parents of outstanding charges. Parents are encouraged to promptly pay all currently unpaid charges and keep lunch bills paid daily or in advance.
JOIN US FOR LUNCH
Dear Parents, Grandparents and Guardians,
You are invited to have lunch with your child during his/her scheduled lunch time.
Each month throughout the year will be designated for certain classes to have guests in for lunch. You may visit on any day during that month. We ask that you notify the school three days in advance to let us know whether you will be purchasing a school lunch or bringing your own lunch. (The cost of the school lunch for adults is $3.25 or $3.75 with milk.) Please plan the lunch visit for you and your child only. Do not include your child’s friends or classmates in your plans.
Below is the scheduled month for each classroom and the lunch period time. Please use the attached form three days before you plan to have lunch with your child/children. We look forward to seeing many of you throughout the year.
