WE WILL BE HAVING THE FALL TREATS AND ROOM PARTIES on Thursday, November 1 beginning at 2:30 PM.  Please note that this is NOT a costume party. 

PLEASE NOTE:  DISTRICT POLICY REGARDING CHARGING OF SCHOOL LUNCHES:  Students should prepay or pay daily for lunches. Lunch charges are discouraged.  An elementary school student will be permitted to charge lunch when he/she forgets to bring lunch money.  These charges should be paid the following day.  After five days of unpaid charges, the student will only be provided a peanut butter or cheese sandwich and milk for lunch.  We will continue to notify parents of outstanding charges.  Parents are encouraged to promptly pay all currently unpaid charges and keep lunch bills paid daily or in advance.

MANY THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS FROM THE CONNEAUT ROTARY FOR THE GENEROUS DONATION OF DICTIONARIES TO OUR FOURTH GRADERS. 

REPORT CARDS WILL BE SENT HOME WITH STUDENTS ON FRIDAY, NOV. 9.  Here are some things for you to know about the format of our report cards:

• Parents may keep the report card.  An updated copy will be sent home at the end of each grading period.
• Parents must sign and return the envelope that the card comes in.
• Grades are reported as percentages and the grade scale is printed in the report card. (For example, if your student receives 77% in math, you could look at the grade scale and see that the grade would be “C”.)
• There are no + or – grades.
• Students receive scores for the effort that they put into their daily school experience.

PTC NEWS:

THE PTC - SPONSORED ‘ROCK OUT HUNGER’ EVENT to benefit the Conneaut Food Pantry was a rocking success.  Over 120 participants donated 15 bags of groceries and $100.  Our thanks to all who organized, participated and donated generously to this event

MANY THANKS TO THE MANY PARENTS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE FALL PARTIES, ASSISTED WITH SCHOOL PICTURE DAY AND COSI DAY, HELPED CREATE OUR WALL OF STARS FOR VETERANS’ DAY, AND ARE PARTNERS IN THE FUNDRAISING AND BOOK FAIR EVENTS.

GRADE 4 STUDENTS WILL BE SPONSORING THEIR ‘SANTA SHOP’ PROJECT BEGINNING DEC. 3.  The shop will stock inexpensive gift / holiday items created by the fourth grade students.  All students will ‘window shop’ at the store on Monday, Dec. 3.  They may buy items on Tuesday, Dec. 4, through Friday, Dec. 7.  Most of the items will cost $2.00 or less.  Proceeds from the store are presented to local charities.  Last year, nearly $1000 was given to several programs that serve our community. This program supports the school mission of fostering active community service.  (If you have an idea for an inexpensive craft that 4^th graders can produce, please contact any of the Gr. 4 teachers.)

 JOIN OUR STUDENTS FOR LUNCH

Dear Parents, Grandparents and Guardians,

                You are invited to have lunch with your child during his/her scheduled lunch time.

                Each month throughout the year will be designated for certain classes to have guests in for lunch.  You may visit on any day during that month.  We ask that you notify the school three days in advance to let us know whether you will be purchasing a school lunch or bringing your own lunch.  (The cost of the school lunch for adults is $3.00 or $3.45 with milk.)  Please plan the lunch visit for you and your child only.  Do not include your child’s friends or classmates in your plans.

                Below is the scheduled month for each classroom and the lunch period time.  Please use the attached form three days before you plan to have lunch with your child/children.  We look forward to seeing many of you throughout the year.
